I began in finance at Elon University as an Economics major and 2-sport athlete.  I obtained my NC insurance license as an intern for Northwestern Mutual, graduating with a BA in 3 years.  I returned to my hometown of Pittsburgh PA following graduation, choosing a financial advisor position with MetLife over large brokerage houses due to their entrepreneurial model.  To this day, I have NEVER held a salaried position.  

In February of 2005 I started Robbins Financial Group LLC to embrace the Independent Fiduciary Model.   Doing so after achieving top advisor status at the 2 largest life insurers in the US, learning 2 critical lessons:  1.) An advisor cannot serve two masters (both the client and the employer) and therefore needs to be beholden to the client only.  2.)  Institutions trusted to house client’s money likewise cannot serve both clients and shareholders and therefore should not be publicly traded.  History proves the public structure to inherently incentivize near-term management, inevitably diminishing long term financial strength.   In direct contrast to our client’s long term financial objectives.  These two overriding principals are the main driver of our multi-decade 98% client retention rate.  

In March of 2015 after a 4-year due diligence courtship with MassMutual’s Corporate Registered Investment Platform, 321 households of RFG’s were requested to transfer their business with us and 100% did.  From then until present, RFG has added key team members that have driven 500%+ in growth.   Bridget McDonald, Director of Operations; Adam Taff advisor and planning specialist; Chase Austin, former pro baseball player, advisor, and portfolio manager; Ned Jordan, licensed advisor, and client services rep; and Kevin Spear, a licensed insurance broker.

In April of 2023, after a 2-year due-diligence period, RFG agreed in terms to acquire Executive Benefits International from SWBC, to retain Jeanie Howell and provide protégé work to Dan and Gay Balogh during a 2-year transition.

In 23 years, we have had the privilege of advising NFL Owners, GM’s, NCAA AD’s and Head Football coaches, professional athletes in the NFL and MLB, as well as entrepreneurs, executives, and physicians.

I currently reside in Charlotte NC with my high school sweetheart, Kristen and our 3 children Jake, Austin, and Anabelle.  When not working, I spend time coaching and attending their sporting events and traveling, often to boat or golf.

I am an experienced Financial Advisor based out of Charlotte, NC.  My practice adheres to the Independent Fiduciary model, working only to serve my clients above all else.  

In 2004, I graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering.  From there I began working as a defense contractor to the US Navy for six years.  In 2010, I graduated from George Mason University with a Master of Business Administration.

In 2011, I relocated to Charlotte where my wife was completing her Emergency Medicine Residency.  There I joined MassMutual Carolinas, allowing me to start my entrepreneurial passion and focus on providing comprehensive financial planning & wealth management.  

In 2012, I teamed up with Eric Little CPA.  Our vision was to bring taxes & finance under one roof, providing our clients with a coordinated and comprehensive financial plan.  Together we helped numerous small business owners with strategies to reduce their tax liabilities, while save for their long-term goals.

In 2020, I expanded my practice and teamed with Robbins Financial Group.  Our synergies in both Wealth Management and Financial Planning provide our clients with an increase in both resources and services.

I currently reside in Charlotte, NC with my wife and our two daughters.  In my spare time I enjoy traveling, golfing, cooking, and spending time at the beach.

Bridget is the backbone of Robbins Financial Group. As the Director of Operations, she makes sure the daily operations of the firm run smoothly. She assists our advisors with new business cases from start to finish, services existing business and attends to clients’ requests.

Always good with numbers, seeing and planning all aspects of a project, Bridget became a business management major in college. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Belmont Abbey College and a Master of Business Administration from Ashford University. Following college, she entered the banking industry where she worked in the life insurance sector and annuities. She joined Robbins Financial Group in 2016.

Bridget resides in Charlotte, NC and enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and 3 children.

The financial services sector has been a lifelong calling for Ned who joined Robbins Financial Group in 2016. He has always had his eye on being a financial advisor as both of his grandfathers and his uncle have been in the investment banking and financial services industry since the 1930s.

While he didn’t start his career in financial services, Ned’s passion and skills enabled him to segue into financial planning. Prior to making the ultimate leap to his dream career and joining Robbins Financial Group, he worked in sales, marketing, strategic planning and client account management for 16 years, including 13 years in the medical device industry.

Ned focuses on investment portfolio oversight, business development and client service. His vision is to help others attain peace of mind and achieve their long-term financial goals, and not be intimidated by or discouraged to address their financial issues and concerns.

He graduated from Loyola University Chicago where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration and played for the Division I men’s soccer team. In his spare time, Ned volunteers with Hands & Feet and American Red Cross and is active with St. Matthews Catholic Church. He also enjoys golf, sporting clay shooting and time with family. He lives in Charlotte with his wife and three kids.

Chase literally knocked it out of the park when he began his financial services career in 2014. After three years playing in Major League Baseball, Chase parlayed his experience of working with a financial advisor as a professional athlete to being a financial advisor with Robbins Financial Group.

Chase’s financial advisor was instrumental in helping him manage his signing bonus, so he knew then that when his baseball career was over that he wanted to do the same for others. Following his professional baseball career, Chase was given that opportunity when his financial advisor hired him. Chase joined Robbins Financial Group in 2017 and is responsible for helping his clients achieve their financial goals through unique strategies tailored to their individual needs. He says he is most rewarded when his clients achieve their financial goals.

He attended Elon University where he played baseball and was drafted to MLB as a junior. In his free time, Chase enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, playing golf and traveling.

Thanh joined the financial services industry in 2012 and joined Robbins Financial Group in January 2017. Thanh obtained Executive Council status in 2012 and 2013 with New York life, and was awarded 2012 TAS Agent of the Year with New York Life.

Thanh received a Bachelor of Art and Design and a minor in Architecture from North Carolina State University in May 2005. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, cooking, and spending time with her son Sean.
